Career Development Training Program
Overview
The Career Development Training Program by Lift Them Up Foundation (LITU) aims to empower young people and women in the local community by providing practical vocational skills that help them build sustainable livelihoods.
In many communities around Kikatiti and nearby villages, school dropout rates are high, leaving many young adults without opportunities for employment or further education. Through this program, LITU provides training that equips youth and women with skills they can use to start small businesses, earn income, and become financially independent.
The program is implemented with the support of community members, trainers, and volunteers who work together to create opportunities for economic empowerment.
Our Programs
Sewing and Tailoring Training
The Sewing and Tailoring Program is designed for young adults and women who want to learn practical skills that can lead to employment or entrepreneurship.
Participants receive training in:
Sewing techniques
Clothing design and tailoring
Use of sewing machines
Basic business and customer service skills
After completing the training, participants are encouraged to start their own tailoring businesses or work within local tailoring shops, helping them generate income and support their families.
Handcraft Program for Women
LITU also runs a Handcraft Program that supports women who already have basic craft-making skills.
Women in this program meet twice a week to create handmade products such as crafts and decorative items. The foundation helps them by:
Providing a working space
Supporting product development
Helping market and sell their products
This initiative helps women increase their income and improve their economic independence.
Future Plans
Lift Them Up Foundation has successfully established a tailoring training class for youth and women. However, the organization aims to expand the program by building additional classrooms and training spaces for more vocational training programs in the future.
With increased support, the foundation plans to introduce more skill-development opportunities that will empower even more community members.
