Thank you so much for this heartwarming stay. You are doing such a nice job, helping poor families and making children happy. We feel very comfortable here. Our children become friends with your 3 kind kids. Wish you all the best for your future. Asante sana

We had an amazing time at Lilian and Abel! They are truly heartwarming and welcoming you to live with them as family, yet enough privacy by having your own facilities within their compound (and the cooking is absolutely amazing!). Helping out the default way in the garden and the school is a lot of fun, and on top of that they are very open to creative other suggestions how to contribute, and are very happy to help you navigate tanzanian society so you can make anything else work (from getting a cake to getting building materials to helping paint, etc) Can highly recommend! (We planned 7-10 days and ended up staying 2.5 weeks!)

I spent more than 2 weeks at the LITU Foundation and with Lilian and her family. I am very grateful they welcomed me so warmly. I had a wonderful time at Lift them up Foundation, I worked on digital and marketing projects and had the chance to spend a lot of time with the children. I will come back again with pleasure. Highly recommended if you want to have a nice experience with great people.

My husband and I had a very good experience working and living with Lilian and Abel and their three lovely children. Our appointments went smoothly in direct communication with Lilian. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. They live in a residential area, so we were immediately immersed in Tanzanian life, an experience we can recommend. We greatly admire Lilian’s initiative. With the help of Abel and the ‘Lift them up foundation’, she has set up a school and provides education for more than 50 children. Besides this education, the children also receive meals at school. Some of the children have lost one or both parents, but they all live in families. Very often, those families live in marginal conditions and sometimes they don’t have enough food. Lilian tries to support those families too, for example with food packages at Christmas and Easter.  We worked in the organic vegetable garden at the school. This appealed to us because the garden helps provide the children with healthy food. Although it was Christmas holidays, it was so nice to experience that many children came to help us. Together, we prepared the seedbeds, planted trees like papaya, mango and banana and made a fence against stray chickens and goats. Thank you Lilian and Abel, you are very inspiring for us in your generosity, perseverance and positive attitude. We wish you a fruitful season and will continue to support you. Hopefully we’ll meet again some day!

Our family spent around 3 weeks with Liliana and her family. They have a very nice and very big house that can comfortably accommodate a family and even more. They are all wonderful people and they made us feel like part of their family. Their children plus cousins and friends coming around are also very nice and they took very good care of our 2 children. We had very interesting discussions and cultural exchanges and we learnt to cook chapatti and exchanged music and dances. The school project at Kikatiti is also very nice and needs a lot of support. Bringing electricity and a pump in the dwell would be a big step forward for the school. The exchange includes some payment to help the daily live and to support the project. Arnau is missing Giann a lot 🙂

Lillian and her husband Abel had started this NGO a few years ago because they truly believe in the community they serve and how important it is for the children to have a good foundation of English while they are young. As volunteers, we stayed at their home and were treated like part of the family. The children at LITU truly enjoy when the volunteers come and are eager to learn from them. I had a great time teaching the kids a little English and math, along with some arts and crafts activities. They were engaged in the books I read and the strategies for addition we showed them. I absolutely loved my time at LITU. There are many different ways to help out using your own special talents and everything is appreciated.

30° Mambo 👋🏼 Last week me and Hannah continued our adventure. We are now currently in Arusha. We had arranged to volunteer at a local non profit foundation called ” Lift them up Foundation”. We raised some funds climbing Kilimanjaro for the foundation. All donations went towards educational equipment, food and necessary items for the school. The school is run by a Wonderful lady, Lilian Sabuni. The organisation was founded in 2021. Since then Lilian and her team have been working very hard. At the moment there are around 40 children from the age of 3 to the age of 6. These children have either lost their parents or are raised by single mothers who struggle to provide for them. Some of the mommas help out at the school with the cooking, cleaning and teaching. Some make handmade items such as baskets and mats. And the youths are currently being taught how to sew. The foundation also grows its own fruit and vegetables. Such as, mangos, papaya, bananas, corn and beans, planted by the previous volunteers. Its a great way to provide food for the children. We have really enjoyed our time at the foundation, everyone was most welcoming and the children have been so sweet. Lilian and her family have also been amazing hosts to us. We stayed at their family home whilst volunteering at the school. Such a beautiful family. Lilian, her husband, her three children and Omega. A very welcoming, clean and safe place to stay. We were fed the fresh fruits from her garden, she taught us how to make local dishes, chapatis were my favourite. She took us to a local Massai market and we enjoyed spending time with her and her family. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Overall an eye-opening and amazing experience! We hope to be back sometime soon for sure!
